The Havre secondary school

The Havre Secondary School was built to inspire students to want to attend. It is very bright, with warm materials, wide hallways, and numerous spaces designed to foster collaborative work and socialization… In short, the architecture of this school has been tailored to serve pedagogy, and that makes all the difference. Because if our students are motivated to come to school, there is a good chance they will succeed. There is a strong connection between the well-being of our young people and academic perseverance.

Representing a $148 million investment from the Ministry of Education, the Havre Secondary School, built to meet the LEED Silver standard and located near the biodiversity corridor, features 43 standard and multifunctional classrooms, 19 collaborative workspaces, 8 art rooms, 6 science labs, 5 sports fields, 3 types of cafeterias, as well as a documentation center and an auditorium with retractable seating for 400 people.

"The Havre School allows us to break down the barriers between classrooms and maximize collaboration," said Luc Lépine, the school principal. "We benefit from the living spaces that have been created to enable the school team to develop a pedagogical approach based on kindness and the appreciation of students. We have the means to elevate pedagogy to another level, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on graduation rates."

The Avenue pavers, predominantly in ivory with a smooth finish, have been installed with a few inserts of anthracite color.
