The Flambeau Secondary School, St-Jérome

The new Flambeau Secondary School in Saint-Jérôme will welcome its first cohort of students in January 2024. A living space designed to better meet the needs of today's students, with its "new generation" building and, most importantly, an adapted and collaborative educational project.

The new building stands along Boulevard Lajeunesse Ouest, just minutes from Highway 15. A contemporary structure with large glass facades, Flambeau Secondary is the first "new generation" school to be built in the territory of the Centre de services scolaire de la Rivière-du-Nord (CSSDRN). This model, promoted by the Ministry of Education since 2020, draws inspiration from the work of LAB-École and focuses on architecture that "supports students' comfort and educational success."

With an abundance of natural materials and light, diverse spaces for work and socialization, "it’s a vast, airy, open school, lived in everywhere," describes Sophie Proulx, the school's principal.

For the outdoor space, Avenue de Bolduc pavers have been installed.
