St-Gabriel park, Montreal

The inauguration of the new Victorian-style amenities at Saint-Gabriel Park, including an outdoor classroom, took place on September 28, 2023.

"This new project is part of the participatory process carried out in 2018-19 regarding the development of the Hibernia-Saint-Gabriel area. We redesigned the park to highlight its heritage value while fostering intergenerational interactions. That's why you'll find an outdoor classroom right next to the Seniors' Pavilion. There's also a beautiful central square, perfect for various gatherings, which is universally accessible thanks to its new pathways." - Benoit Dorais, Mayor of the Sud-Ouest borough and Vice-President of the Executive Committee of the City of Montreal.

The project, with an investment of $1.2 million, took place from summer 2022 to spring 2023. It involved refurbishing pathways and sidewalks, upgrading park lighting, and constructing vegetated protrusions. The project aligns with the participatory process conducted in 2018-19 regarding the development of the Hibernia-Saint-Gabriel area and is in accordance with the guidelines established in the Parks and Green Spaces Master Plan 2019-2024.

Bolduc's Avenue smooth finish pavers, in sizes 100 x 150 x 300 mm, 100 x 150 x 150 mm, and 100 x 200 x 200 mm, in a mix of light gray, smoked gray, and anthracite colors, were installed there.
