QUEEN STREET, OTTAWA

The general objective for modernizing Queen St., between Bronson and Elgin was to make walking, cycling and mass transit more pleasant and practical by reorganizing and improving the street landscape.

As an exemplary thoroughfare for mass transit, Queen St. could improve the urban environment to easily handle a high volume of pedestrians arriving at and departing from Confederation Line stations.

The project called for improving the pedestrian, cyclist and vehicle infrastructure along the central portion the Queen St. This included parking spots, innovative access points, priority pedestrian crossings, extra wide sidewalks, and new landscaping.

Bolduc is proud to have played a role in beautifying this key Ottawa artery.
